Who are you helping?

Volunteer Lots of money can be spent on advertising, but really nothing costs as little and returns so much value as a personal hand shake and meeting.

Whether you are an established practitioner or a new doctor in town, getting to know the key opinion makers in any community is important.

From the local businesses, to the restaurant owners, to the professionals in the community it is critical for any successful practice to have the doctor known. A great way to do this is “third party” causes.  From the Christmas time “Toys for Tots” campaign to the local hospital charity function, to the chamber of commerce testimonial dinner, offer to get involved.

If there are pamphlets to hand out, tickets to be sold, displays to be distributed make it your personal mission to do the job yourself.  This affords you the opportunity to introduce yourself on behalf of a worthy cause that is not self-serving and also enables you to have a great reason to visit every business in town and ask for their support on behalf of a worthy cause.

Nothing glamorous. And, yes, it's time consuming. But the return on your investment of personal time will be immeasurable.  It's a great professional way to help your community, the cause you are involved with and yourself, for no money and huge return.
